re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Can anyone verify if Hypergreen will return for 2017 or not? Doesn't show it will or won't. Ready to order as soon as it is possible but was really liking Hypergreen. Thanks.

if you really like hypergreen go try to order a 2016. with jeep you never know. i did not want to risk it and ordered hypergreen last week. there are no major changes for the 17s either so no reason not to

IMO the LED headlights are reason enough to wait for a 2017.

Depends on the price hike. Might be cheaper to get the color you want and replace the headlights.

MOPAR offers LED headlights for the JK and so does JW Speaker.
Why wait for something you can install when the color you want could be discontinued?

Pat sold me my 2014 and helped me a lot after the sale... I will miss him from his former dealer... He had the most product knowledge of anyone there.

I was always under the impression that led headlights were junk. I thought LED headlights ran to hot and threw a scattered beam. For these reasons I never considered LED headlights. I've converted my TJ to HIDs, and for my challenger I built bi xenon projectors.

After seeing the 17s LEDs at night, I'm thoroughly impressed. The light is a crisp white with just a slight hint of blue at the cutoff. I'd guess they are just over 5000k.

If you're ordering a 17, you'll want to upgrade to the LED headlights. But, I feel that proper headlights should be the first upgrade to any wrangler.

i would not sacrifice the color you want over headlights, thats silly. and apparently hypergreen is up in the air on whether it will be available in 17. upgrading the lights will be significantly cheaper than a paint job

LED headlights do not run hot on the lens surface. In fact, most run too cool for parts of the country that get ice and snow. Ice build-up occurs on those vehicles.

Some aftermarket LED headlights have built-in heaters to compensate for this. Unless Jeep has stated heaters are included I would be concerned.

On the light surface, perhaps. Many of them run heatsinks and fans on the base.

The last I heard Milous mention HyperGreen not returning for '17 was on page 35 of this thread. If you want it I'd pull the trigger on it now. You never know what the Jeep gods are up to... it might stick around, it might return, it might disappear.
