re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

I spoke to Customer care today. They finally gave me a VIN ( I ordered 8/12 and up until today, nothing!). I asked what status my order was at and this is the response I got:

"Your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process. The parts required to build the vehicle are being scheduled and as soon as they are available and ready, order will be scheduled for build. Most orders are scheduled for build within 30 days after reaching this stage. I am showing no ETA or delivery date."

Not sure if this is good or bad. I see people saying they are in D1. What is that?

My speculation is maybe an addition of two colors after scheduled launch in Sept and the third to replace hyper in November. That conveniently aligns with the three due out colors (chief, gobi, acid). Which one comes when who knows. Purely speculative though.

Damn forgot about XP now my math/speculation is all off. I should know better by now trying to predict Jeep/FCA plans..... Rookie move

Would dealer or any feedback info from trakcing show "WFA"? i much prefer them to two tone. Yes I get that orders made now are full and are not being submitted yet, but I assume ordering early as possible will be further up on dealers' que for reopen of submission to factory than orders made after launch.)

2) I do not see WW wheels listed even though I understand WW orders are being taken. Does that mean definite carryover of 2016 wheels?

3) most importantly for me on the body colors -- I would really like the Gobi. But not if it will push me into December/January delivery. From current info and prior launch history, does it look like that would happen?

I believe the stock Rubicon wheels remain the same as those in 2016 (and several years before that). So, if you ordered a basic Rubicon anytime in 2017, those are the wheels you'll get.

Id like to know that as well. I ordered a 2017 Willys.

I believe it was the same in last year's brochure... for whatever reason the black Rubicon style Willys wheels didn't show up in the picture of available wheels but were indeed part of the Willys package.

Was hoping for a darker blue than what it seems Chief will be, but I think it would look alright with black flares/soft top.

Emailed Craig yesterday morning and was out the door last night with a 2017 grand Cherokee limited 75th Anniversary. Transaction couldn't have been easier. Highly recommended working with Craig at koons.

Nine colors available at any one time
This could mean that Gobi, Extreme Purple and Acid Yellow will be available to order by November 2016.
Or they run two lines on one color or there maybe a surprise color.....
With the exit of Hypergreen, we short of a green.....
But that means only seven available in August- November orders, ie Sept-Dec. production. So why would it not mean two of Gobi et al being available very soon?

Imo... the fact that we just saw Chief on a Sahara from the upcoming '17 brochure more than likely means it will be available across the board and will be available much sooner than March. Obviously it is not being reserved as a special edition color only. More than likely it will be one of the nine standard colors for 2017. Just my guess.
