The 3.0L diesel is a go. Not certain yet if it will make it for the 2018 model year (November 2017 launch), or be held off until 2019 model year (July 2018 launch).

I would trade in my 2016 for a diesel. Hoping it's sooner then later.

Until then, I am very happy with my JKUR.

Nothing that I'm aware of. I think people are going to be extremely pleased.

Continuing the movie theme, that would be Clark Griswold's vacation winning odds. Winning a Jeep in Vegas to replace the Family Truckster would be nice.

My source says no USA diesel for 2018. Though, while that might have been true when the words came out of his mouth, Jeep can always change that on a whim.

re: 2018 Wrangler JL/JP Information Thread (OLD)

So, here I am, proud new owner of another jku, 2014 and 16. I also have four females in my cave and they are all under 5'4. I've decided to replace my factory rock rails with aftermarket power step boards, so they can more easily get in. Is there any mention of this and/or a rear view camera as options for the JL? Just seems almost every other vehicle on the planet being made now, has these options, or something similar.

I know the wrangler is an offroad vehicle, but I like knowing what's behind me. I also like knowing my girls can get in and out without issue.

Oh, and big fat stinky thumbs down on the "skyslider" soft-top. It looks completely retarded.

Re: 2018 Wrangler JL/JP Information Thread - Jeep CEO Gives Update

Thought everyone would like to read this if they haven't already. Good news and fingers crossed on the next iteration!

Statement from Jeep CEO Mike Manley via the Automotive News regarding the upcoming 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL:

"Manley said the next-generation Jeep Wrangler under development will be more fuel-efficient and is “on schedule and on track.” It will be introduced in the first half of 2017. “To be honest with you, I’m delighted in the way it’s turning out, not just from a styling point of view, but from an overall point of what Wrangler stands for, I’m very pleased,” Manley said. “We’ve made a large number of changes in terms of fuel economy, both enablers in terms of weight, with the aero[dynamics] of Wrangler, because at the end of the day, it needs to be recognized as Wrangler,” Manley said. “With weight [reductions] and a number of changes that we’ve made, you’re going to see that we’ve really pushed that vehicle forward in terms of fuel economy.” - Interview credit to Larry P. Vellequette of Automotive News

Enjoy!

All fluff words.

What did anyone expect Mike Manley to say? That the new Wrangler is a pile of crap, and looks horrible? Even if true, he wouldn't.
