IMHO, all those spy shots are of a JK, both interior and exterior. The only photo that might be of interest, is the one of the gear shift lever.

For all we know that shift knob could even be a bit of camo... just an insiders joke to cover up the same ol NSG370.

Re: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Spy Shots as of May 3, 2016

So far I'm not seeing anything different. Interior, same. Exterior 90% same not even sure the reason for camo on the grill.

I think they are just testing electronics CAN bus and drivetrain changes.

I just read that the 2018 won't have the easily removeable doors, can anyone confirm that? I seriously doubt it, that's a big part of the appeal for myself and many others.

Unless you read it here on jeepgarage, the rumor has no merit.

Which is why I wanted to ask jeepgarage about it. Seems like nonsense, thought someone in the know might be able to confirm otherwise.

re: 2018 Wrangler JL/JP Information Thread (OLD)

with the change to the 8-speed transmission, will there be a change to the transfer case?
maybe even a full-time 4wd option??

Re: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Spy Shots as of May 3, 2016

I would love to see a system where you can pick 2WD , 4H or 4L just like today but you also have an option of Auto where it works like full time 4WD. I belive Jeep used to have a simiar system on Jeep Liberty back in a day.

To use a Jeep Liberty system on a Wrangler would be going backwards and be the end of the Wrangler. The manual TC system we use is so much better then the automatic TC systems found at the mall.

That's SelecTrac. It was CommandTrac, with one additional setting, full time 4WD.

I had it on my XJ, and really miss it.

The reason Jeep engineers gave me, that it wasn't offered on the JK, is that it would not fit in the short wheel base on the 2-door JK. And I guess they refused to have a different/additional option on only the 4-door.
