35" tires on stock wheels

Hi All,
My JKUR is on order, and I am trying to finalize my configuration but need the help of the community. I have a 3" lift planned, and would like to put some 35" BFG KM2s on the stock wheels.
Do I need to add spacers, and is there anything else I should be considering for my plan?
Thanks!

Good for you. You must be super excited, I know I would be.

It looks like your stock wheels will be 7.5 inches wide. You will need some aftermarket wheels if you are looking to put 35x12.50R-17 BFG T/A KO2 tires on your JKUR. BFG recommends a rim width of 8.5 to 11 inches wide. Here is a link to their spec page:

All-Terrain T/A KO2 | BFGoodrich Tires

Can't wait to see your Jeep when you get it.

I went with KCM XD 775 Rockstars, 18 inch rims... they have all black, black with chrome accents and all chrome on this model.

Luckynav,

What a gorgeous jeep! I love the stance of this vehicle. I might be looking at getting something similar when I get my jeep. Thank you for posting.

Re: 35" tires on stock wheels

We show the Rubicon Hard Rock edition also has 17x7.5 wheels. You would need aftermarket wheels to make that work.

Probably not. Minimum width of a 35 is 12.5 I believe, they will not fit on the stock rims.

Yup. I upgraded to 33's and bought new wheels to make it work best to insure no rubbing. Here is my setup I just bought from @Discount Tire Direct....they were terrific people.

Re: 35" tires on stock wheels

Thanks for the kind words kadonny. We'll keep working hard for you.

A little additional info about stock 17" Wrangler wheels (2007-2014) and large tires...

Something we probably should have mentioned earlier is that the stock wranglers wheels are not only narrow but they also have a high offset which sets them pretty deep within the vehicle fender wells. Even if you could find someone willing to mount too wide of a tire on them they would need a wheel spacer (not recommended) to keep them from rubbing the suspension.

For those that really love their stock wheels, the largest tire we recommend is a 285/70R17 (~32.8" tall x 11.2" wide) This size is approved for the factory 17" wheel and it will not interfere with any of the suspension components (with or without a lift)
