730N Nav and Armrest USB functionality

Hey everyone, New member as I just bought my first Jeep Wrangler about a month ago... I got the Unlimited Altitude model. So far loving it after 2 consecutive Durango's dating back to 99. My question is on a 730N Nav, will the armrest USB plug also act as a charger only, or should it also allow using the device (i.e. phone) that is plugged into it as a source?
The reason I ask is I bought my Wrangler with a 130 model stereo and a "We Owe" for the installation of the 730N. The armrest USB worked for my IPhone as a source under the 130, but now when I plug it in with the 730N I get the "accessory connected" page on my phone, but no source listing on the 730... this also is a problem since it seems to disable my phones ringer when it's plugged in and since the phone thinks the stereo is doing the audio and the stereo doesn't recognize the device, I have no audible warning of a call or message.
Just as an aside, I also noticed that the mic/voice control stopped working after the install and upon further research they said they needed to order a different mic for use with that system, as the 130 mic and 730 nav don't work together.
So, long winded background, but basically I want to make sure I am not asking for something to work that is abnormal. My expectations are: working mic/voice system (in process) and armrest USB fully functional as a charger/device input with full stereo control of audio (unsure).
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Re: 730N Nav and Armrest USB functionality

you need the adapter wiring then now the usb in the armrest goes direct to the rear plug from the RHR, befor with the 130 the usb goes to the uconnect modul.

the mic are the same you need also the adapter wiring

So basically, yes the armrest USB should indeed work the same as before and there are more parts they will likely have to buy and install for this to work right? It is unfortunate that I have to spend my time doing this as you would think the dealer would know this before agreeing to the swap.

Thanks for the help.
