AEV 2.5 or 3.5 Lift and Shocks

Hi All, debating between the AEV 2.5 and 3.5 lift, for my 2017 JKUR when it arrives. Going to run Nitto Trail Grapplers 35x12.5x17 on AEV Pintlers. I don't drive a lot, but do haul dogs to and from the kennel to the farm and mountains for training. Nothing hard core, but don't want the tires to look stuffed in the stock fenders. Just sold my 14 JKURX with the 2.5 Max Travel kit with Fox Shocks. No complaints at all with that set up, but want to switch it around this time, and I feel AEV will provide me with everything I am looking for. What do you guys/gals think, 2.5 or the complete 3.5? Thanks for all the great opinions. Leaning towards the 3.5, but am concerned it doesn't have control arms. Also do you all prefer the Reservoir 5160's or just the regular 5100's that come with the lifts? AEV recommended the Reservoir but I am not sold I need those, minus they do look good. Thanks for all your input.

The Bilsteins used in those kits corrode fairly quickly. You may want to look into other options since you're in Chicago.

Many thanks MOFSTEEL. I didn't realize, but had read some people having issues with that. Thanks again.

Looks like people that aren't running heavier aftermarket bumpers, winches, etc are getting 3-3.5" from the AEV 2.5".

I have a 16 hard rock and went thru same thing. I really wanted 3.5 aev but after talking to many and getting advice from rubitrux I went with aev 2.5 and just added the geo brackets, procal and steering stabilizer. I love it on 35 nitto ridge grapplers. I don't drive much also

Re: AEV 2.5 or 3.5 Lift and Shocks

Fitti, many thanks as that was my initial thought process as well, but then I started to think too much and found myself at 3.5. I am not getting the Hard Rock this time around, so my Rubicon will be even lighter, so 2.5 should be more than enough for what I need. Thanks again.
