I've got a 2017 Unlimited in route. I'm having a mopar 2.5in lift put on it to fit 35s. All that I've read about is how great Fox Shocks are, so that's what I was planning to have put on it. I was informed today that they're on backorder and at this time there isn't even an estimated arrival time (which could be both good and bad I suppose).
Does anybody have an alternative that is the same quality as Fox Shocks?
Depends on what you plan to do with your Jeep. I am happy with my Bilsteins and actually replaced fox with bilsteins and the ride is similar. If you are looking for a more plush ride the OME shocks are nice. Fox tend to ride a little stiff.
Yes, Bilstein 5100s. Yes, I have had 3 TJ's and 2 JK's and have my 3rd JK on order. I have run OME, Fox, Bilstein and just ordered Metalcloak rock shocks for my 17 that is coming soon. Of these the OME were the softer shocks on the road but I wasn't happy with them rock crawling. I had Fox on my 2015 JK for the first year I owned it and had some warranty issues and requested they swap them out for Bilsteins which are what I am running now and to be honest I don't notice much difference, maybe a little softer ride but not much different.
As an option consider these. Elka bypass shocks. Had mine on since 2009 and have loved them. Allot of wheelin and have not let me down yet. No leaks. Now that they are 8yr old the finish on housing/body is a bit off, but still look great. Not stiff. Check them out.
I've had Rancho RS9000 shocks on my jeep for around 4 years now. I have no complaints with them. With the twist of a knob you can make them softer or harder depending on your preference. I believe I am currently running them on 6 in the front and 5 in the back.
