Re: Any other Wrangler owners?

Here's my 95' Mango Orange Rio Gande.

Story behind it is that I bought the WK knowing nothing about Jeeps. Then I decided I wanted to go offroading and found out I bought the wrong Jeep...it was just too nice to bring through the stuff around here in NJ. So then I spent all summer working, my mom was so impressed I finally got a job and she just couldn't understand my sudden motivation. To make a long story short that summer all I had to show for working 60 hours a week was my new to me wrangler.

Love the truck more than the WK, it's just so fun to drive, the chicks LOVE offroading, and it's nice to cruise to the beach to in the summer.

Re: Any other Wrangler owners?

I understand a little about the attitude towards the JK, esp the 4d... but when you have wanted to own a Jeep for as long as I have, and have 3 little ones that are a long way from moving out, sometimes we have to make sacrifices to make it fit our circumstances. I love the feeling of owning a Jeep FINALLY (I could not afford one when I was single, I drove an '85 Suzuki Samurai and pretended LOL) and I am also pleased that my entire family can join in on the fun, even though Dad is the one who wants to do all the off-roading right now. He loves to take it out hunting and gopher hunting with the top off is so much fun too! I am often picking up empty shells off the floor.

Here's my '09 we traded in 3 weeks ago. This was the first weekend we had it before the running boards, you can see there was still snow on the ground. We took the top off and took it for a little spin to see what it could do. (the '11 is pretty much the same thing... we just bought it because I liked the interior upgrades)

And because you can't see the little on in the middle, this is how I roll.. although they are all 2 years older now, I just don't have any pictures of them in the new JK yet. The 2 older kids were in booster seats for a year after we bought this.

Of course now our '11 needs some upgrades... a bumper and running boards are first on my list, and then a winch and bigger tires. I have been pondering some rims but haven't picked out any I like just yet. The running boards are a must because of the kids...

PS: My kids don't play soccer

Re: Any other Wrangler owners?

I have both. Between the two, I 've got all the bases covered. TJ for the crazy stuff I won't do in the WK. And the WK... yeah, it's got a Hemi!

Re: Any other Wrangler owners?

I have a 2007 Rubicon Unlimited that is due back to the leasing company next month. I'm seriously considering a 2011 GC Overland. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this.
