that is a good piece of info, i found that out the hard way. I went away for a few days and while i was gone my dad decided to take the emissions control stuff off my 89 YJ. When i got back i took it on the beach the next day and lets just say it didnt go so well... thats a good bit of info about the TJ axle, i might end up doing that sometime.
But as far as feedback on the YJ, mine is great, its the 4.2L I6 engine and she handles like a champ on the beach (now that the 4wd works), mileage is not too terrible, but nothing stellar. if you have a carb with and Electronic fuel mix control, which i think started somewhere around 86, you will want to replace it and get a standard carb that you can adjust, if you dont then the electronics go bad and then you get like 12 mpg. thats the only thing i can think of that is a problem at all
