Anybody installed the 110V outlet in their JK?

We are in the throes of getting a new 4-dr, and my wife wants/needs the 110V outlet. Sorry, we're not throwing the cash out for a Sahara that frequently has one, we're looking at dealer inventory until the 2015 can actually be ordered. Anyone installed this outlet after the fact? Is there any dealer/computer programming needed? That sounds weird, but my wife works at the Volvo dealer and ANYTHING that involves electronics has to be enabled through the car computer at the dealer

Re: Anybody installed the 110V outlet in their JK?

I have to ask, what does your wife expect to plug into it? It can only output 1.3amps (150watts), and even the manual warns that you can't plug in a Playstation or an XBox360.

I have one in my JK, and given those restrictions, I have no idea what I could ever use it for, that I could not instead use a 12v outlet or the USB.

Thanks, Walt. I guess the bread making machine is out? JK
It doesn't really sound feasible from the dealer, so I am most likely to put in a 1000W inverter under the passenger seat or some such thing. Yes, hardwire to the battery with a separate breaker, I'll poke around to see what others have done for aftermarket hook-ups. Reality is we'll have it ready in case we need power when we go camping or similar.
Thanks again
