Wink Auto trans in 2017 JK

Anyone know if the 2017 Unlimited is going to get an 8 speed automatic? I read that they had problems getting it to fit.

Nope. The 2017 JK has nothing much changing, and with that, has the same powertrain. So, its got the 6-sp auto.

Wherever you read about the 8-sp, ditch them, and find a more reliable place for your info.

I am still not convinced that it is a good idea.

FCA had to drop the Hemi from the AWD Chargers, when they dropped the 5sp auto. The 8sp just isn't tough/reliable enough.

The only difference in the '17 auto is it is $50 more (MSRP) than '16.

i think it's just a longer transmission than the nag1. and it was always the Transfercase that got smoked i've seen the forums and the 8 speeds hold up against the Hellcats and 6.4L Jeeps.
