Also i only want a hard top , but the premium soft top is included in the 4700 dollar black bear package, will the soft top be deleted and will the money for the soft top be deleted with it? thanks
There are definitely issues with configuring the Black Bear.
Currently, the price for the package is $4700 for both the JK and JKU.
All JKU's come with A/C as standard equipment.
The base JK Sport doesn't come with A/C standard.
Both JK & JKU BBE's come with A/C standard. But the package costs the same...even though the JKU already came with A/C standard.
This plays out on all Sport-based Limited Editions, and Jeep amazingly seems to get it wrong in the early stages every time.
Usually, the JKU version of an upgraded package gets Power & Convenience Group as the replacement for A/C. Well, the BBE has that standard as well, so that got overlooked.
Some people who are configuring/ordering recently are saying that the JKU is getting the Alpine system as standard (or a $0 option) as replacement for A/C. That might play out to be true (or it could be part of the Heated Seats package).
The current order guide states that the Alpine system is included when you order the Heated Front Seats (JPM). It says that for both the JK and JKU.
I think currently Jeep doesn't have their shit together on this one.
If you order just a Hard Top, it looks like you still have to pay the full $995 MSRP. Since the Premium Soft Top is standard equipment, you don't get a price reduction for deleting it.
If you order Dual Tops, the price is reduced because the Premium Soft Top is standard equipment, but the original Dual Top option included the $500 increase for the PST. A Wrangler Forum member, along with his cooperating dealer, contacted FCA about this early on and got them to adjust the price, and the 9-23 order guide reflected the price change going forward.
