Break in help, info

So I just bought a 2015 Wrangler with only 15 miles on it. I drove through town regularly, let it sit at my bros for about 10 mins. and then immediately got on the highway and drove 70 mph with cruise control. Nobody at the dealer told me about the break-in period and they knew this is my first time buying a new vehicle. After reading the user guide and some forums about the break-in period not using cruise and going fast, I am a little worried. I want to make sure I do it right. And in a few days I'm also towing a small pop-up camper about a 100 miles so is that good or bad. Please respond. Thanks

You're suppose to be constantly varying your speed so that everything breaks (wears) in evenly.

The problem with the cruise control, is that when you use such, you drive lots of miles at a very fixed speed. Try to avoid doing that.

I would probably avoid towing anything for the first 500 miles. I don't think "break in" matters as much as it used to but just to be safe I would follow the manual. Especially if you are looking to keep the Jeep for some time why take chances?

I wouldn't worry personally about towing so little weight so early. Just my opinion

Vary the speed, no cruise control and dont baby it. Per the manual bursts of full throttle are benificial to good break in. Overall i dont think it matters as much as it use too but for a few hundered miles why not just follow what it says.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah I have avoided cruise control and have been doing the break in steps. I did read and talk to someone about these new engines already being broken in a lot at the factory but I'm still doing it just to be safe. No getting out of towing. Only way to get my camper at a family reunion. But it is a very small pop-up camper. I pulled it with a V-6 Honda Accord like it was nothing.
