Cat converter preference

Have a 99 4.0L w 02 sensors after catalytic converter. Replacing my cat. My exhaust guy is saying after all his years experience he sees the least issues or ppl coming back if u install AP exhaust cat vs any other brand. It would be a minimal $100. His is $200. Then I saw that AP purchased Eastern... I read some good things about eastern and can get one of those for $60 and up. I guess I just need to research the quality materials used in the model I'm looking to buy. I read catco has some poorer quality materials. I do spend time in the woods and some water... Some climbing. Nothing hardcore. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: Cat converter preference

I ran a stainless universal one in my 99 when I had it. I'm pretty sure Magnaflow and Pypes make them. Mine was a RandomTech model and I never had issues with it.

Thanks ... I think I'm going with the AP. But the stainless sounds nice I'll look into that

I'm sure you'll be fine...it should last you quite some time.

When I buy exhaust, (because of where I live) I always go stainless. Can't beat it for durability.
