do you lock the doors on your soft top?

do you lock the doors on your soft top? If someone wants to break in, they could just cut the soft top if the doors are locked.

Re: do you lock the doors on your soft top?

I do.. just keeps the opportunistic criminals out... if someone is bound and determined to get in...they will. It doesn't matter if it's a hard top or soft top. Jeep or not- it's better to keep a clean car with stuff our of site. Same thing with no top at all... still lock my doors (plus it sets the alarm).

I locked mine, but as gramps used to say..locks only keep honest people honest...soft top is an invite for a kid to look for a quick heist. ..I put a proximity sensor in my old wrangler (mis that thing) and had a 1 mile, 2-way transmitter... even that, if a real thief wants it, it's theirs

With half doors and a soft top, I don't EVER bother with locks.

I didn't on my TJ, when it had the doors on, but with the keyless entry on the JKUR, it's habit. I just hope the thieves know they can unzip the windows...

I was going to say the same thing. If they're going to break in, I hope they just unzip the windows. Just don't cut the top...I've had my soft top off almost all summer and I just don't leave anything in it that I couldn't live without if it was taken.

The valuables I tend to keep in my Jeep would include a Bible, Bible study and a pair of notebooks for Bible study and sermon notes.

If a thief wants that stuff, obviously they need it.

You should also leave key in ignition too. Might as well.

I drive a Jeep for everything that makes it a Jeep, and I have insurance for the people that feel entitled to thievery. Stuff is just stuff.
