Re: Don't know if i should buy a wrangler.

I've had a Wrangler: lots of off-road fun, great option in bad weather, but was tedious, tiring and road noisy - not fun to drive on long trips. Rent the Wrangler for a week before you commit to be sure it is fun enough as a daily driver to deal with it through on an long drive.

Consider the Cherokee/Grand Cherokee options as well. They're better on long hauls, great in winters, and much quieter. But sadly, the tops don't come off.

Re: Don't know if i should buy a wrangler.

We've got the 2014 GC and '12 wrangler unlimited in the driveway. They are both great for what they were built for. I don't relish the thought of the Wrangler on a drive of more than 3-4 hours. The GC was built for that. It is comfortable, great sound, and rides incredibly well. The WKU... it does sunny days with the top down and off-road things. Waiting on delivery of a '15 Rubicon Hard Rock (formerly the X package).... three jeeps in 11 months. It's a true addiction.

? Colorado ? Your location indicates you could possibly be a spy from Arizona??!!!

The Wrangler is an awesome anachronism if you drive where the offroad capability outweighs the compromises on the highway compared to the quite capable GC.
There aren't that many trails that nasty in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, California, etc.

In New York City, this would be a good thing. Unfortunately they both still
have windows to be broken for theft.

I'd suggest a Volvo or Mercedes. One of the old "iron" vintage to handle the luvverly streets, and keep everything in the trunk, and not even much there.

You don't mention where in CO.
On the highways, you'll prefer your GC by far.

I'm in Boulder County, and so far I've hit exactly two places where I might have preferred a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. One is Jeep Trail from over by St. Marys, and the other is where you end up if you mess up trying to get onto Pennsylvania Gulch off Switzerland Trail over behind Gold Hill. Possibly another would be heading
up to the Tunnel. Granted, on nice summer days, an open top Wrangler would be fun.

Further west out near Grand Junction, the Wrangler is nice for where you forget about the trails and just head cross country. But it gets a tad hot without the top.

Re: Don't know if i should buy a wrangler.

In Thornton, you'd be likely to appreciate the better highway driving of either Cherokee, but since you imply you can afford both, if you hang out in the mountains west of town much, the Wrangler is nice. There's a nice road off Rollinsville that goes up and over the top of a mountain to near Central City, and just before the top of the mountain is Jeep Trail over to St. Marys. A GC can make it, but a Wrangler is more suitable. Or, just head up to the tunnel from Rollinsville.

Re: Don't know if i should buy a wrangler.

I thought the ride was good right when I got it.

Then you see what it can do.....

After taking it off-road, it is amazing to me that all I do is air up the tires and back on the interstate home.

I wish I would have gotten one a long time ago.
