Extended Warranty Terms On Wrangler Unlimited Models

Getting ready to pull trigger on Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 1st new vehicle purchase in years. I plan to get an extended warranty and was curious as to what lengths are being offered and what the cost has been running for others.

"Search" on this site works well. There are lots of threads on Mopar Service Contracts. Having said that I found the best help/information and prices here:

Zeigler Auto Group

Mopar Vehicle Protection: Extended Warranties from Chrysler. SAVE 60%! Quick Quotes. Buy Online.

It would be in your best interest to only consider a Chrysler/Mopar Service Contract and not one from a third party, dealer, or credit union.

Yes, you can buy official Chrysler warranties online - and they typically are much much cheaper. Last jeep I bought I got an online quote and then took it into my dealer. Original price was $1800, online quote was for $1,100, offered the dealer $1,150 for the same warranty so I could get it all wrapped up in one place. They quickly agreed

Unless its a mall crawler, buying an extended warranty from Chrysler is a bad idea...

Don't leave a statement like that open ended. Please list your support to back up your opinion. I would definitely like to research that support as there are many threads on Jeep Garage that would disagree with your opinion. If you meant to say there is a clause in the contract that says things will only be covered that fail due to normal wear by careful use that is one thing but flat out saying a Mopar Service Contract is not a good idea unless you use your Jeep only for mall crawling is misleading. My collision insurance won't cover my Jeep if I deliberately run it into a brick wall either. Maybe I should cancel my collision insurance because I use my Jeep for more than mall crawling. I have had several extended service contracts over the years with both Chrysler and GM. I have found that in most instances if you have a good relationship with a dealership they will go to bat for you if something fails that is supposed to be covered. I have even had dealerships get things covered that were not supposed to be covered. They did this by calling either Chrysler or GM, giving them their opinion it was not the owner's fault, and simply stating the part should not have failed. Personally, I have never lost on Mopar Service Contracts. My best example of this is when I blew the head off of a Chrysler turbo charged 4 cylinder engine in a Chrysler convertible. I hate to admit it but it was 90% my fault as I was pushing the little 4 cylinder for more than it was made for. (Let's just say I grew up in the Detroit area with street racing and a lead foot.) Chrysler/dealership never asked how I did it although I am sure they both knew by the looks of the internal engine damage. In any case Chrysler/dealership completely rebuilt the engine and supplied me with a loaner car for only the $50 Mopar Service Contract deductible.
