My husband had to replace my tranmission and transfer case. Now my check engine light is on (not to mention the noise from the hole he cause in my exhaust due to angrily trying to move it while taking the transmission off). I checked the fault codes. Until he can repair it, can I drive it? They are as follows.
Here are the 3 codes I got:
12 - Positive battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 Key-on cycles
33 - An open or shorted condition detected in the duty cycle purge solenoid circuit. (A/C clutch relay circuit)
13 - No difference recognized between the engine MAP reading and the barometric (atmosphere) pressure reading from start-up.
Also, the brakes are barely working now and the engine is revving a little high and sputtering when idling. Could all of this be related? I know he also replaced the clutch and freeze plugs while working on it.
You likely don't care about the battery disconnect fault.
Where is the hole in the exhaust, as that could be the root cause of all of the other errors.
It could also be that if the transmission got whanged around enough to put a hole in the exhaust system [unless it was already pretty much rusted through] there are some heavily dinged or even broken wires down underneath...
Depending on where the hole in the exhaust is located, you MAY be able to TEMPORARILY close it off with a pipe repair half circle aka single bolt clamp.
The one shown is from Grainger, but is a tad overkill, pretty much any pipe repair clamp can close it off for a short while, long enough to see if that helps the other errors.
