Footwell and ambient lights out - 2015 JKU

Hey guys, I need a little bit of help. I recently noticed my ambient lights (footwell lights, cup holder led, and window control LED lights) are all out. I checked every fuse I thought could be it, and nothing (although the layout and descriptions of the fuses in the JK's are terrible). Any thoughts as to what could be going on?

*I did add green led lights extra to the footwell lighting (both front and back), but everything worked perfectly up until a few days ago. No idea what it could be (again, only thought would be a blown fuse, but couldn't find anything)

Sorry, I have to ask the obvious, did you dim the dash lights down all the way down?

Which footwell lights did you change? There are two separate ones; ones that illuminate dimly with the dash lights, and ones that illuminate brightly when the doors are open.

Re: Footwell and ambient lights out - 2015 JKU

Yes I did check dimming the lights/turning them off. I tried like 20 times hoping it would somehow work haha.

I actually changed both (that is, all 4 footwell lights). The green led light when you open the door still works, for both the driver and passenger door. That is what leads me to believe there is a fuse/something else happening.

So just no inside illumination, which consists of the footwell lights, cup holder led, and the led lights inside the window switch.

Re: Footwell and ambient lights out - 2015 JKU

I checked the wiring diagram.

There are three fuses involved. They are M15 (20amp), M13 (20amp), and F13 (60amp). The wiring diagrams just show black boxes for the controls, so I can't tell which if those fuses might be directly involved with just those lamps which aren't illuminating anymore.

Is anything else not working, like the auto trans PRNDL, or the power mirror control "line"? Those are on the same circuit as the footwells, cupholders, and windows switches.

I haven't noticed/checked. I will shortly. Seriously, thank you for checking. I checked M13, M15, and M20 so far, but not F13.

Correction, the power mirror controls themselves are working just fine - just the 4 leds inside that don't work

I didn't mean the control itself, but rather the one small "dash" which is suppose to light up and shows the center on the knob.

Ugh, those are actually working. The PRND... In the transmission are out though. After work, I will replace the fuse and see if that works. Thanks again. But now my fear is it's something else if the AC and temp gauge lights are working...

Those are not shown as being on the same circuit as the others mentioned here.

No luck. Wasn't any of the 3 fuses. Checked others that could have been slightly related, and nothing 😕😞

How are you checking the fuses? I only ask because I have been fooled by a fuse that looked perfectly good, but actually wasn't

Fair question. For M13 and M15, I simply pulled them out to check the fuse (didn't replace). For J13, I went ahead and replaced it, and no luck. Had a guy at Autozone (when I bought the fuse) look at it (that new more than I thought about this kind of work), and he wasn't sure either.

On the footwell lights, I have 2 green LED's attached to each (one to stay on when the lights are on, and one to turn on when the doors are opened). When the doors are open, the light does come on, so it seems logical that there is a blown fuse or the like, with the circuit you mentioned earlier.

Just to be sure, tonight I can replace the other 2 fuses (as you've mentioned).

This is bothering me more than it should haha
