Help me decide!

Hey there--new to the forums. Recently sold my BMW X1, and looking to order a JKU very soon. I'm a career firefighter and need to be able to get where I'm going, no matter the weather--including our station half way up a mountain pass. Never had to test out that route with the X1, but it did pretty well in the snow and slush we had last year--but now that I ride my bike the majority of the year, I don't need to be concerned about fuel efficiency of my passenger vehicle. I'm having trouble deciding between the Rubicon and the 'Rubicon Lite".

Wrangler Unlimited Willys Wheeler W
Hard Top
Uconnect430
Alpine Premium Audio System

Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
Hard Top
Uconnect430N
Connectivity Group

Based off of best pricing in the area, the spread is about $2300 between the two. I like the Willeys version because I've become attached to the look and it will certainly do the job with the 3.73 gear and the Trac-Lok Differential. Aside from the off road enhancements, I like the idea of the Navigation and Automatic Headlights in the Rubicon, as well as the 115 volt outlet.

I have decided that whichever version I go with, it will have a 6 Speed Manual and will be in Anvil. But can't make up my mind past that.

The plan is to buy the Jeep and keep it--I can return to a luxury vehicle after Ive paid off the Jeep. But in the 4-5 years before that happens, it might the nice to have the added features of the navigation and auto headlights of the Rubicon.

What advice can you share with me regarding my choices? Who has the Navigation and what do you think of it? Is the Rubicon a hands down choice over the Willys Wheeler W?

Re: Help me decide!

I went through this same decision. For me it came down to the two items I wanted but could not get with the WW; Nav and Saddle Leather interior.

My good friend (he's had Jeeps for the last 20 years) told me that I should get the Rubicon because the equipment (transfer case, Dana 44 front, electronic sway disconnect) included is worth more than the price difference.

I plan on keeping mine forever, so while I valued his input, for me it came back to the 430N and the Saddle leather.

Good luck!

Re: Help me decide!

You would not add the Connectivity Group (Bluetooth) to the Willys?

You could not add the Alpine Premium Audio System to the Rubicon? BTW, I thought the Alpine Premium Audio System was currently a required option.

AFAIK, the Connectivity is included on the WW and the Alpine is standard on the Rubicon--But yes, those options are ones I could want on both.
