Re: Hoist

Has anybody hoisted from an installed roof rack (like the Yakima or Thule)?

Not yet but I am considering whether or not I want to put the one currently on my Liberty on my new JK when it comes in.

Re: Hoist

I am leaning toward this Racor system. Couple of questions. I was thinking of locating the hoist gear mechanism off to the side of the vehicle to avoid the tail gate issue. Is there a reason you found this wouldn't work? Also, Is the top of the platform strong enough you think to store the two other two parts of the freedom top? Planned on storing them up there. Thanks for your feedback on this.

Re: Hoist

I've read a guys post on wrangler forum who used a reinforced rail to hoist from. My issue is that I also want to store the other freedom tops components.

Re: Hoist

If you tap your anchor points into a joist/joists, the added freedom top weight will not be a problem.
