How To Get Below Invoice ?

I live in the Kansas City Metro area and I am looking to get a Rubicon Unlimited. I emailed a few dealers in my area and they are telling me 40,320 is invoice and they will charge $200- $500 above that . How do I go about getting them to lower the price? I noticed a lot of people on here get 1-6% below invoice, how does that work?

Thank you

Re: How To Get Below Invoice ?

There are several dealers around the country who have group buys going. I personally dealt with the one on Houston and it was smooth sailing. There is also one in the CHicago area.

Here are a few strategies.

The automatic easy one is to join Treadlightly for $100 and that will automatically get you 1% below invoice without any haggling but you have to wait 30 days after joining for your control number to have been active in the system for 30 calendar days.

go here for that:

Tread Lightly Individual

The above may be your best option as according to TrueCar Dot Com you local market is giving prices in the range of $300 below invoice and $700 above invoice. Maybe try a TrueCar dealer and work a deal for 1% below invoice without having to spend $100 nor wait 30 days.

good luck.

See the thread entitled "5.5% Group Buy". It is for individuals, anytime, from a large dealer in Texas. It's 5.5% BELOW invoice. You can still use Golden Tickets, rebates, military bonus cash, etc. to get your cost down even lower. It's not a group buy like "we need 20 people"; its just a much lower rate for anyone who wants to take advantage of it.

You may find that the savings is worth the cost to get there.

PM me for details.
