Hydraulic clutch line replacement

I have a 93YJ, 4cyl- I recently replaced my slave cylinder and in doing so, the plastic clutch line snapped. The connector that slides onto the slave's in-tube wouldn't release either, and so I had to destroy it to remove it. I have searched high and low for a replacement line and the only one I found was from summit racing-42"ss braided, but, after purchasing it and waiting for a month for it to arrive, it doesn't have the correct fittings, as they are threaded for brake line fittings. I called summit and they have connectors for it, at $30 each, and they would be on back order as well. So I tried to take matters into my own hands and was gonna use brake line and some compression fittings-1/4" and 5/16" and try to make something work. Well the plastic line is 8mm, not 5/16", but the slave line is 1/4", any ideas on the cheapest, most reliable fix? I looked at the end coming from the master and it has an elbow coming off, going to a rubber-looking line, but I didn't have time to reverse-engineer it yet, and didn't want to do unnecessary disassembly. Please help

Re: Hydraulic clutch line replacement

you can order a adapter fitting from advanced adapters and use regular brake line. i have also seen people remove the fitting from the master cylinder and cut the 90 deg fitting off and drill and tap the fitting for i think 1/4 NPT and use a brake line fitting. i used the advanced adapters fitting and it worked out very nicely.
