TJ Soft Top Recomendations

I have a 2006 TJ, and have read the reviews on the site, but a lot of them are from 2014 or before. I just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on the best bang for your buck top wise. I don't want to cheap out, but I also don't want to just pay for the brand name of best top.

I am up in the air between 3 tops at this point, Whats everyone's opinion.
I am leaning towards buying from extreme terrain or quadratec, unless someone is running a great cyber monday deal.

Quadratop premium sailcloth replacement top :
Pro's: 3 year warranty, and will replace the whole top if something goes wrong.
Cons: No real reviews on line.
Price: $399.00

Bestop Sailcloth Replace A Top:
Pro's: Best top great reviews OEM manufacturer
Cons: Higher Price.
Price: $579.00 for black diamond, minus $100 rebate, so $479.00 total

Rugged Ridge XHD Softtop:
Pro's: Price and some good reviews
Cons: Some reviews say very loud.
Price: $427.49

If anyone can help with this topic, I would really appreciate it. Thanks Jeepers !

I have the Best Top Trektop NX. I have no complaints. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Conversely, you don't get what you don't pay for.

Thank GoCoogs, I am leaning towards the best top but I wanted to make sure the added money with the best top wasnt just because of the "best top" name

If price is your concern, why not call the manufacturers and ask about comparable guarantees? Choose the product that fits your budget, does what you want, and gives you peace of mind. None of us like to make uninformed choices.

Re: JK Soft Top Recomendations

Full disclosure, I only have experience with Bestop and more specifically the Trextop NX. I don't know the difference between the material used in the NX verses the Sailcloth Replace A Top either, if there's any. That said, we installed the NX in Aug. At the end of Oct, my wife and son were involved in a 60 mph head-on accident (they're both ok, the Jeep did her job and protected the occupants) where the Jeep was flipped up on her top. NOT A SINGLE TEAR. Granted, this was on a dirt embankment/shoulder, not a lot of concrete or rock, but there was evidence of the top digging into the dirt a bit. I'm pretty sure that there's a good chance the fabric itself could be reused.

TL;DR - The Trextop NX fabric is tough stuff, I would guess other Bestop materials would be equally as tough.

Re: JK Soft Top Recomendations

Years ago i purchased the Sail Cloth top for my YJ. It was considerably heavier material and quieter than the old OEM top. Ive since sold her. But I didn't regret the higher price of the sailcloth. I dont think the quadretec had a sailcloth option then, so i cant honestly say that its any worse just by the lower cost.
Decisions, decisions.....
Good luck.
