They are just as awesome as the headlight upgrade. I used heat shrink butt connectors and then wrapped that with wire loom, and wrapped that with tape. The fogs alone are better than the old heads and fogs combined. Splice or no splice (since I can't actually answer your question due to my screw up) they are totally worth it.

Hopefully someone here has a definitive answer. JW will answer you if you contact them...great support.
The plug on the back of the JW Speakers fogs only matches up to the older fog light plug from 2007-2009(?). Even if you bought the 6145 model you would have had to cut the plug off and spliced the wires or bought a conversion plug harness (might be a better option). I spliced mine too before thinking of a conversion plug.

The only issue I see is that JW Speaker came out later and said that the 6145J may have issues being used on 2007-2013 models because they are specifically made to address the PWM issues o n the 2014+ models. From 2007-2013 the fog lights had no flicker, and when you swapped bulbs it was no issue. Starting in 2014, the fogs have PWM, like the headlights, so there's a flicker. Most may not notice it, but JW Speaker quickly addressed it with the J series in both the headlights and fogs.

If you put a 6145J fog light on a 2007-2013 JK, you may get a strobe or flicker effect because it's made to cancel the PWM in newer models.

Good to know...and I'll be checking that out tonight once it gets dark out. I've not noticed any issues, and I run them often without the headlights before nightfall, but unless you're really looking for it, you're probably not noticing. thanks for the heads up!
