LED vs HID head light update

Looking for recommendation on upgrading headlights on 2016 wrangler. The old sealed beams just don't cut it. Are the LED kits worth the money? I've seen prices from $399 to $700+.

The $720 JW Speakers are on sale at NorthRidge4x4 for $475 if you call and ask.

Re: LED vs HID head light update

Just bought some off of Amazon for about $230. Mine have halos, but there are others for under $200 without. The brand I bought was Lantsun and I'm pleased with them so far. I haven't wired the halos up yet, though.

Re: LED vs HID head light update

I installed HIDs on my WJ and the results were amazing over halogen. When I got my JKU, I was REALLY disappointed with the headlights since I was now used to HIDs. I went with the JW Speaker LED headlights and I couldn't be happier. Here is a side by side and some night shots of them.

You won't be disappointed. I got the matching fogs while I was at it.

For the headlights, it's literally 4 screws and a plug. Doesn't get easier than that.

Re: LED vs HID head light update

I recently helped install some JW Speakers into my friend's 2013 JKU and she absolutely loves them. Yes, they are expensive, but they work great. Just make sure you get the new 8700 Evolution J. Those are the only ones that are true plug and play on the JK.

Re: LED vs HID head light update

I installed the JW Speaker Evolution J LED's in my HardRock.

Simply amazing. Best upgrade I have done. Took all of 30 minutes to install. They are completely Plug-N-Play. No adapters required.

They are made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty.

I paid $475 for the set from Northridge 4x4. You have to call them for that price.

Were the fog lights plug and play as well? I know that speaker makes the 6145 J I believe it is for the 2015 and 2016 Wranglers but I also heard you have you strip the wires to connect the plug that comes with them and solder them to the existing wires.

Re: LED vs HID head light update

I screwed this up...I got the 6145J's for my 2013. 6145J is designed for 2014 and up. So I spliced and direct-wired. I'm not opposed to splicing in like a lot of folks, so it wasn't a huge deal. If done right, it's fine.

They are just as awesome as the headlight upgrade. I used heat shrink butt connectors and then wrapped that with wire loom, and wrapped that with tape. The fogs alone are better than the old heads and fogs combined. Splice or no splice (since I can't actually answer your question due to my screw up) they are totally worth it.

Hopefully someone here has a definitive answer. JW will answer you if you contact them...great support.
