This guy is offering a great deal on his 2001 Jeep Wrangler 60th Anniversary Edition with 40k. He said he bought it in 2001 and long story short, he was running his parents business, then one day they kicked him out...(IDK the REAL Story, but that's what he told me). Very nice guy.

He said it's been sitting for about 5 years overed up in his parents backyard.

I hope he gives me a call in the morning about it. He said his brother is going to show me.

I know it will need a Fresh Oil Change, New Plugs, Air in the Tires, and a New Battery and mst likely a fresh tank of gas.

What else should I do before starting it. He hasn't started it up in 5 years. And what's the best thing to do to get the gasoline out of the tank.

You are going to need new gas, new oil, new tires{flatspots for sitting that long definitely], new plugs, new air filter, all new other fluids{brake, clutch, coolant, etc}, new transfer case fluid, new battery, and possible new gas lines and filter[ due to dry rot} and finally you may need all new gaskets{ they tend to shrink or get brittle after sitting that long]. Easiest way to get the gas out of an older Wrangler is to get a hand crank transfer pump[$10.00] and pump it out.

Yup! ^^^I found one of those.

The guy spoke to me today. He said he parked it in 2005 and has sat at his parents house since.

He said he's going to get it towed and he's ging to get it running for me and I'll help him out with it before buying it. This is too cool right now. I know the guy too.

I'm definitely going to check it out underneathe since it's been sitting for a while. Hetold me he last started it in 2007. I'm waiting for him to update me on some stuff so we'll get it settled.
