Mounting larger tires with a CB antenna?

Hello all,

I'm running a 4' FireStik antenna with the Mopar CB mount on the spare tire carrier on my 2013 JKU. Currently, I'm running the stock wheels and tires but sometime next week I'm going to be mounting 295/70r17 tires to aftermarket rims with 4.75" backspace. I notice with the stock tire, the antenna is pretty close to the tire as it is and I'm worried the antenna won't fit with the larger spare. Would the wheels with increased backspace help or do I need to buy a kit to move the tire farther out from the body?

I think the fire stick is a top load antenna meaning it sends and rec from the tip of the antenna ,there are center load and bottom load antennas if you are worried about signal you should be good ,

Re: Mounting larger tires with a CB antenna?

My concern is the space between my tire and antenna. As you can see, with the stock tire the antenna rests against it. The new tires will be 1.5-2" wider, however the backspacing on the rims will go from 6.5 to 4.75. I just don't know if the backspacing on the rims makes a difference on the spare tire carrier.
