New 2015 JK - U-Connect work work
I picked up a brand new JKR about four weeks ago at a dealer in Jackson, Wyoming. The one thing I did not try out in the test drive was pairing my phone. I waited until the Jeep was mine before doing that. The salesperson and myself were unable to get it to work. The new Jeep was taken into the shop and after a couple hours they had traced the problem to a bad head unit; or so they thought. Well I had a schedule to keep and if it was only a bad head unit, I was okay with that even though the Jeep was brand new.
I get home and take the Jeep to my local dealer. Long story short they have were unable to fix it the first time and they thought it only needed a hands free unit. They ordered a new head unit. They installed that ten days ago and still the system wouldn't work. So this past week they started changing out wiring harnesses. This past Friday I went in and the system is still not functioning properly. They are calling Chrysler today.
Here is an illustration of the problem. I enter a setup mode. The system prompts me for a command. Try as we might, and we had four techs in the Jeep on Friday, we can't get it to work. We tell the system, "setup," "tutorial," etc., and after three attempts it shuts off. On one occasion we got it to accept setup and we tried to pair the phone. The system would ask for a PIN number, we would say 1, 2, 3, 4. The system would repeat 1, 3, 3, 4 and on and on and on.
So my new 2015 JK has been in the shop the past ten days with no end in sight. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I am reaching the point of frustration but since the dealer has been working with me and acknowledges there is indeed an issue, I don't want to start raising hell.
