My temp gauge is ready between 190 and 200 so its not getting hot. I just changed the oil and filter last weekend. any suggestions?
I'm not familiar with the Wrangler gauge, but I've never seen one that registers pressure when the engine is not running. The old mechanical gauges would register pressure for a short period after turning the engine off, but that was because the pressure doesn't drop to zero immediately.
Pegging when starting a cold engine isn't unusual, but it should start dropping as the engine oil warms up, usually moving to the 30-40 level while driving, possibly dropping to as low as 15 when idling.
