Re: Plum Crazy Pearl: Sound off if you want this!

Just wondering if there is any update on Plum Crazy Purple? Is it still going to be a late model year special edition? I just don't want to order one in a different color then find out a month later the purple will be available.

I have had it with this waiting game. Jeep is the auto maker that plays games to this degree. I am going to buy from another maker. Maybe a SSubaru

Re: Plum Crazy Pearl: Sound off if you want this!

Last year I wanted Plum Crazy Wrangler and waited for 6 months. It never happened and I bought a 2014 Toyota Corolla instead. No games. Here is what we have and here is what we can get. Had a new vehicle that night.
Here is 2015 And we are playing the same game. I got tired of waiting for the same thing. I just purchased a 2015 Toyota Tundra. If more people did this Jeep would stop playing the silly waiting games. I still have 1 vehicle to replace. If Jeep wants to sell me a wrangler they better get the plum in quick. So far the silly games cost jeep about $70K. The consumers could change Jeeps terrible habits in a few months after they loose several million dollars. Tell Jeep enough. Get your act together or we will buy elsewhere

Re: Plum Crazy Pearl: Sound off if you want this!

I'm wanting one as well and have put one off for years because they haven't produced.
Bottom line is that Fiat/Jeep could care less.
They can't build enough of them and sell everyone they make so a select few of us go without.
If they were smarter they would come up with a special edition Plum Crazy and it would be guaranteed sales but again, they already sell the one's they're making.

Side note, look at the quality of a large percentage the Wranglers they are producing for lot sales. The paint sucks ass, the leather seat covers look terrible, the tops aren't buckled up properly and just a lot of loose ends.
The more I look at the newest Wranglers the more I'm questioning a purchase. I do want one but they seem so crappy and full of cheap plastic anymore.

If they make a quality product in Plum Crazy I'm still in on one.

Re: Plum Crazy Pearl: Sound off if you want this!

Still waiting patiently here. I'm guessing with a half million Jeeps they are building this year (total new record!) they probably have to just insert these special editions at certain times. I'm sure the logistics involved means they have to make somebody wait, and that will no doubt be us purple lovers. They can't build everything at once. If they left it open at the start of the model year for everyone to just order and have built to custom specs using any and all options and colors then some people will get theirs first, some will have to wait a few weeks, more will wait a few months and then the rest will be dead last: 11 months later. I'm wondering if there are in effect stretching out the production (and thus the people who order and "hurry up and wait") by artificially segmenting the production into batches. You will still have to wait either way but do you want to place an order and wait up to 11 months for your vehicle or wait for the order window to open (upwards of 11 months..) and then place your order and have it a few weeks or a month or two away from light of day. See what I mean? I hope you guys are happy with your other cars though. We have a new 2014 Nissan Rogue to scoot 'round with.If Purple doesn't come I'll probably just order a new Tank 2door Hard Rock and trade in my Commando 4 door Rubicon (only 9,000 miles on it now) and then look around for a gently used TJ that I can get for my wife and have it painted on Plum. I hear you though: The wait in excruciating, and we may never get Plum either.

I am also waiting on PCP. Was waiting last year & then it didn't pan out & then again this year. I would love a PCP Rubicon - been hanging onto our 2010 in anticipation of purple. May give up soon & buy an older one & get it painted.

Well there still may be some hope left. Just found out today that the Altitude Edition will be available to order on February 10th, so keeping fingers crossed that PCP will be available on it.

PretTy much going to wait until the 2016's come out. By this time it's not worth the extra wait on any color.money better spent on a new year instead of a end of year purchase.
