Side Indicators on with parkers

Hi all
Firstly apologies if this has come up before but I searched and couldn't find it. I have a 2011 Rubicon Unlimited. Yesterday I was reversing a trailer and was advised by my spotter that they saw 'sparks'. Couldn't tell me where or any other info (let's not go there!). Anyway, later on that day I turned my headlights on and noticed that the side marker/turn indicator lights came solid on. They stay on when my parkers or headlights are on. All the indicators seem to work fine (even the side ones which flash when I am indicating) but they stay solid on whenever I have lights on. I am 99% sure they weren't doing that previously (I've had the beast about a month now). I've checked online and some vehicles do that but I am sure mine were only coming on when I indicated prior to yesterday's 'incident'. Has anyone encountered this and/or know what the problem is. I can't find a fuse for turning lights but checked a bunch of fuses anyway and can't see a problem there.????
Cheers

Blue Wolf

Re: Side Indicators on with parkers

As far as I'm aware those are marker lights only and do not flash as indicators. They should be lit with the parking lights.

Thanks for replying.

If that's the case I will just drive with them on...just wasn't sure of the legal issues of having orange lights on the side given NSW is such a Nazi Nanny State. FYI they definitely blink when indicating...they just go from full on to blinking rather than off to blinking when parkers/headlights are on (with no lights on they act as normal indicators).
Cheers

NSW as in New South Wales? It's entirely possible things are different for export models, but I'm almost 100% mine are markers only and do not blink at all in the US.

Matter of fact, it would be illegal in the US for the markers to flash/blink when turning. That's why we have those additional "repeater" lights; either on the fenders between the wheel opening and the front door, or on the rear view mirrors.

Thumbs up Re: Side Indicators on with parkers

Sorry for the delayed response and thanks for replies....I've been on leave!

So they do indicate, just from a solid on state when parkers or headlights are on. Seem to be working fine so maybe I imagined the change...who knows.
NSW...yep New South Wales in Oztraylya lol.

Thanks Again and I'd just like to say I love my Rubicon! Coming from two generations of Land Rovers I must say I was a bit nervous about making the change but sure as shit ain't lookin' back!
