Re: Sunset Orange

My dealer called and my Sunset Orange Jeep arrived. Rushed over to take a look. Glad my dealer ordered for me with no obligation. Granted it is cloudy out, but it has a pink undertone to it and was not what I was expecting. There is no metallic in the paint as far as I can tell. I think I am keeping my white 2014. I am going to go by on Friday, to see it in the sun, but as of now, I can't think of a reason to trade.

I don't want to have a pink car for sure. I am getting a little worried now.

I have to agree Stopped by my dealership where I purchase mine to closer look, they had two and pink was one of the first things that came to mind as well. Then seeing the pics starting to pop up here and other forums, you can def. see it. Orange is one of my favorite colors, 2nd only to red. After seeing the dates push back on the orange I decided to go with the fire-cracker red since I have no patience haha, glad I did. I'm a true orange fan, and this definitely wasn't what I had expected much darker I guess hence "sunset"

But that beautiful thing about Jeeps they have a vast array of options, so as long as your happy with the color that all that really matters.

Yes having a vast array of colors as we all have different tastes. My wife and daughter just went to take look and could not locate it. My sales rep was gone so they asked for assistance locating it. They could not find it along with the other rep and then realized the rose colored Jeep was the sunset orange.

Re: Sunset Orange

Weird... under some of the lighting in the pics it doesn't look much different from that Rock Lobster color they were sporting in one of the shows.

Will be picking mine up in the morning, I'll let you all know what I think... Supposed to be a cloudy day though.

Not questioning you River, but some people may be confused by expecting pearlcoat to be a metalic. Pearlcoat isn't a metalic. Pearlcoats use fine mica particles (as do some metallics) but pearlcoats are a tri-coat paint.

Tri-coats have three separate finishes, the color coat, the pearlcoat and the clear coats. Metalics mix fine particles of aluminum or mica into the color coat making the paint glitter from different angles. Pearlcoats don't do that, they just give a sheen or depth to the paint... or maybe gloss is a better word. I'm not the best at word-smithing.
