Nice look! JW Speakers? Did they ever fix the harness/flickering thing?

I'm not sure if they did or not. When I ordered the lights I also ordered the SMS harness to go along with them. We drove around last night and had ZERO issues. No problems at all and the lights are AMAZING! They put out better than my Raptors lights!

Re: Sunset Orange

I just picked up my new 2015 Rubicon, Sunset Orange, ordered from an out-of-state dealer because that's the only place I could find one. I fell in love with the color in the pics posted at the top of this thread - but what I got is this utterly flat orange. It's great if you like flat orange, but there's no pearl in mine, from any angle or in any light. Very disappointed in the color. And it's not quite this dark - it's more of a medium orange.

And many of the photos aren't even close to the actual vehicle colors.

And then neither are the colors on their website.

I have been looking at all the photos on the same computer laptop screen, so you would think that they would all at least be close.

The Sunset Orange on their website isn't even in the same galaxy.
You sure got that right...

That's because the pics are all "photoshopped". So, for colors, its simply up to the their photo editor, to create what they want the color to look like.

Along similar lines, if you look at any of the '14 Sahara pics, they all have the spare tire pasted on incorrectly (top lug at 12 o'clock), probably because the photo editor though it looked better that way.

Here's a good comparison photo of Baja, Sunset Orange and Firecracker red. Hope it helps some people make a decision.

Re: Sunset Orange

Confused by your statement you ordered out of state because it was the only place you could find one. You can order from any state to get what you want. Did you buy chance mean you bought out of state as opposed to ordered?

I ask because I hope to buy mine out of state intentionally and I am curious how the whole tax and license thing works. I am sure I won't pay out of state tax but need at least a temporary plate so I can drive back home and not get stopped twice a day.

I know there have been a few people who claim the orange has zero metallic/pearl effect at all. The SO I took a look at a few weeks ago did. It may not have had enough of that effect for some people, but I definitely saw it.

Tough choice between this and Baja Yellow. But like you said in an earlier post, bright color required.

Re: Sunset Orange

Hi, NumberCruncher,

I wanted to buy through Dave Smith, a large dealer in Kellogg, Idaho that is different from other car dealerships, and they had to find me a SO "Pearlcoat" Rubicon at a dealer in Utah because they didn't have that color in stock. It was transferred to them through a dealer trade thing, so I was buying in Idaho where I live.

As for the metallic, it sure isn't there in mine. Mine is a cross between a rolling traffic cone and Home Depot orange - 0% metallic or pearl in it. Flat flat flat medium orange.

Sorry to hear that about the color. I have been to Dave Smith and I know at any one time he has over 1,000 Ram 1500's in stock. Talk about a volume dealer.

I'll likely move to Spokane in the next month or two but I'd go to Idaho if I was more confident in the job market. Not counting Coeur d'Alene as I lump that in with Spokane. More the smaller mountainous towns in Idaho where I'd love to live but don't want to be stuck working at a grocery store or gas station.

Re: Sunset Orange

Hi, NumberCruncher,

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if they had different color runs at the factory, because I just don't understand how anyone else with the same SO as mine could possibly find any pearl in it

On moving to this area - my advice is move to north Idaho and plan on a commute to Spokane (which isn't very far). That's what most people do here. The jobs (and the excessive and onerous laws, regulations, taxes, etc) are in Washington, while the life you want to live is just across the border in Idaho. I would seriously check into that approach before you move. I know several folks who moved back across the border into Idaho just to get away from the Washington state government.
