Re: Sunset Orange

Ordered my Copper Brown JKHR on 10/8 (first day I could order that color) and salesman called me yesterday and said my order had been kicked back because Copper Brown (and Sunset Orange) had been put on hold for now. He called his area Rep and was told they hoped it would open up around Nov.1 or shortly there after, but nothing firm. Rep didn't know why those colors were put on hold.
Soooo, guess I'm going to wait for awhile and see what happens. Salesman said he would keep me up to date on anything he hears....we'll see.

Ahhh... I now see where you're getting the "pearlcoat" from...

New Colors for 2015:

Firecracker Red Clear Coat
Sunset Orange Pearl Coat (late availability)
Copper Brown Pearl Coat (late availability)
Baja Yellow Clear Coat (late availability)
Tank Clear Coat Straight Shade (late availability)
Plum Crazy (late availability, special model)

That's a metallic and would probably look more like Mango Tango than Hemi Orange (see post #2).

Any other shade of orange would be monochromatic and look like the Hemi Orange in the Challenger pic (see post #6).

Re: Sunset Orange

Hopefully I'll have my Sunset Orange Sport in November so I post pics and give you all a definitive answer to the color speculation.

Re: Sunset Orange

Does anyone have anything on the hold of Sunset on the HRR's?
Why? Permanent or Temporary? Ideas of when it will be lifted if temporary?

I just negotiated a killer price one one and cannot order it!!!

Beegee1,

I am kind of in the same boat. The only difference is that mine is ordered and I have a Von#, but I am in limbo. I am not sure what this means, having a Von#. I contacted jeep through their online service and they could not find my order. It's actually starting to become a little frustrating, and I might just cancel it and order something else. I just don't have the patience to play the game.

My personal theory is that there is a Mojo Edition in the wings and a Sunset Hardrock would compete with it... I have absolutely nothing to substantiate that, it is complete conjecture on my part.

What is a Moab edition? Pardon my limited knowledge.

That is the best (only) explanation I have heard. Seems reasonable. It would be great if someone could or would either affirm or refute this idea.

Hang in there. Don't cancel yet. Having a VON is good. You probably can get tracking help here to determine if you have a problem.

I was thinking that Jeep marketing is simply replaying the same game they did last model year, with the Copperhead color on the Rubicon X. Eventually, they opened it up for ordering late in the model year, only to close it right back down permanently about a week later.

This made Rubicon X's in Copperhead a very rare Jeep, and I don't think the orange-family body color clashes at all with the red accents.

Re: Sunset Orange

Hey Goal & BeeGee,
There's hope for you I think... There's another member's Unlimited Rubicon Hardrock in Sunset Orange that is being tracked on MOTS. It was ordered on 10-13-14 and went to D1 today.
