Upgrading to 35s. What lift should i get?

So i'm brand spanking new to this forum and already have a ton of questions haha! Ok, so this is my 3rd Wrangler and i'm modifying it sloooowly. I'm about to purchase a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 315 75R16. So, i have the following questions: A friend of mine is giving me her stock Rubicon shocks and coils. From what i've researched that will give me around 1- 1 1/2" lift. Correct? If that's the case, do i also need to purchase flat fender flairs (or cut my stock) to get enough clearance running 35s? Or should i just forget about the Rubi shocks and coils and go all out and get a 2.5" suspension lift, or less of a lift since the Rubis shocks will be on it? If i do that, i wouldn't have to get the flat fender flares (or cut my stock flares)?? What kind of lift would you recommend (i'm a single mom, so i need something affordable yet bad ass looking) So many questions i know *hides*......HELP!

Unless your friends Rubicon suspension is from a JKU and you're going to put it on a JK I wouldn't expect that much lift. That being said with cut fenders, wheel spacers (if you're using stock wheels) and bump stop extensions you could run 35s on the stock suspension. If you want to go taller on the cheap I would pick up a leveling kit. I would choose the EVO leveling kit, but I'm sure if you ask 3 people you will get 3 different answers on which brand they prefer. Even with a leveling kit you'll need bump stop extensions and wheel spacers and likely a fender trim.

How much lift you get will depend on the numbers on your coils vs the numbers on hers.

Re: Upgrading to 35s. What lift should i get?

Well after talking to my mechanic this morning, i won't be able to run 35"s with my stock wheels. They are 7" diameter, so not going to work with 315 75r16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws Do you guys know what the biggest size m/t's i can use with my stock wheels and a 3" suspension lift??

New wheels first, then tires. You can do it in increments to stay in your budget. 7" is really limited. Go big or stay on the porch, lol. You don't want those little girlie wheels, little girlie or not.

Gotcha! I kinda like the 15" wheels. Do you think I'll have better options with tires with the 15"?

If you're getting new wheels I would go 17". If you go 15" you'll have to be careful to get ones that will fit, I've read that some don't have enough space for the brake equipment.
