Your factory fresh paint will be subjected to millions and millions of swirl scratches from poor wash technique and dirty equipment rubbing grit into your paint. Your clear coat will be stained from the excessive tire shine goop as it slings off your tires on your first drive. Your "damp rag only" leather dash will have protestant put on it permanently changing the OEM matte look, as they haphazardly use spray bottles in the interior, your headliner and other fabric materials are contaminated with a fine mist of whatever crap they're spraying, etc, etc.

Amen.

Love Jeep. F*cking Disgusted with Dealers
Nope... it can get much worse than that. I was at a local Jeep dealership in good ol Chicopee Mass a while back. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and I was towards the back of the lot checking out some Wranglers. While I'm between two jeeps a Ram pickup goes screaming by me... and I mean moving. As I watch a young guy parks that pickup, gets out and hits a key fob to find his next victim, a beautiful black Ram 4x4. This is a truck I had just checked out. It looked fresh off the truck, seats in plastic, etc. So get this, he jumps in, fires it up and punches it! Pedal to the floor... gravel is flying. What does he do next? Slams on the brakes! Punches it again... slams on the brakes! This guy is beating on that truck. He goes flying down a couple rows... brakes, gas, brakes gas. Keep in mind he just started the truck up... it's still cold. He then goes screaming past me (doesn't see me) and pulls it into a work bay with the garage door closing behind him. Man I was pissed! Walked into the dealership... the first salesman that saw me saw that I was pissed. I told him what I had just witnessed and who walks in from the back? The fool who is beating on these vehicles. He flips some keys onto a desk as I point him out and guess what... the salesman said "oh, he's just mad because he has to work Saturdays". Nice right? So as far as detailing goes... do your own. And if you're buying a Jeep in Western Mass... watch out for Metro Jeep in Chicopee. I can only hope that idiot has been fired by now but I'll tell you what... I'll never go there again. Who knows what he did to that truck once the door was closed.

Thanks for the information...I just emailed my salesman at the dealership and asked him to make sure and NOT let any kind of detail be done to my Jeep before I pick it up.

I saw that on done to a Grand Cherokee, and their are probably lots of GC owners out there who don't realize that dash isn't supposed to shine

On the Wrangler the leather steering wheel seems to be the most frequent victim.
