[video] JK Teraflex Leveling Kit and Spidertrax Spacer Install

This is part one of a two part video series. Video two will probably come in a few days as I will be out of town over the weekend. Here's the before and after photos, and the first video which covers the front install.

JK Teraflex Leveling Kit and Spidertrax Spacer Install - Part One

This is Part One of a Two Part series on the installation of the Teraflex JK 1.5" Leveling Kit (1155200) and Spidertrax 1.5" Spacer (WHS010) on my 2015 Jeep JK Unlimited Willys. The Willys has Rubicon suspension, but does not have some of the additional Rubicon features (such as locking diffs or link disconnects). I tell you that so you can keep this video in perspective with whatever you might be trying to work on.

This is basically a "how did" video, rather than a how-to video. There are probably a ton of things I could have done better or differently, but this is my experience. Just a guy in his garage installing a leveling kit and spacers on his new jeep. Please reference the instruction materials and videos as well if you are going to do the same.

If you are interested in doing the same...maybe you'll see something in here that will give you confidence (or scare you away). Maybe you'll see something I did that you can improve on your own installation. Either way... enjoy.

Please don't beat me up too bad on my lack of mechanical prowess. I work on computers for a living...okay. ;-)

Great video. Did you lose any gas mileage?

Great video. I will definitely be using the video again real soon. I plan on the same leveling kit when I purchase a new Unlimited very soon.

Are you still happy with the spacers? I'm not sure I want spacers but I'm sure the wider stance helps with stability after moving the center of gravity higher.

Thanks for taking the time to make the vid.

Still happy and still have it on. I've since added 35s and new rims, so the spacers have been removed. I'll upload a pic in a bit.

Here's a pic with the 35's. No rubbing in normal driving, but I do get a bit of rub when flexed. I think it's the fenders....

Re: [video] JK Teraflex Leveling Kit and Spidertrax Spacer Install

I recently bought a '15 JK and am looking at this kit as well. I have seen a few videos about this installation and I noticed that everyone disconnects everything to fully drop the axels enough to allow the springs to be removed, fully expanded.
This requires the need to torque and re-torque after the install. Seems like a lot of extra steps.

My question is... Why not use spring compressors to allow them to be removed at full, normal suspension extension and then reinstalled without having to unbolt everything?

I was wondering that myself. But, it isn't hard to figure out safety could be one of the main reasons as handling compressed springs is not as safe as handling uncompressed springs. I'm sure someone here has tried both wasy and will enlighten us shortly.
