Willy's grill

Was weighing an order for a Rubicon against a Willy's 2015. Is it at all possible to have an order for a Willy's which specifies a body color grill, rather than the black?

Personally I like the set of options on the Willy's, but that grill IMHO looks butt ugly.

Re: Willy's grill

I'd talk to a dealer about the Willys edition even being around for the 2015 model year. Many of the limited editions are a one year deal, ( the Moab edition of 2013 comes to mind) You can always change the grill color, but that is part of what makes it a Willys, in my humble opinion. However I might be a little biased, since I'm riding around in a Willys edition.

I'm putting an order in for a 2015 Willys in the next few days, so at least for the early part of this year it will be available.

Yes, but I would rather get the grill I want up front rather than after the fact.
I wouldn't go so far as to say the grill is what makes a Willy's a Willy's. Unless there is a way to get the upgraded suspension that the Willy's has on a sport.

Re: Willy's grill

Like I said, the grill is part of the Willys package, it doesn't make it. The important part of it is the upgraded suspension and the trac loc rear. Buy the way, a buddy in the parts department informed me that the springs and shock part numbers on the Willys are the same as a Rubi, so if you can live without the E lockers, the Willys is a hell of a deal over the cost of a Rubi.

Yep, that's why I was eyeing the Willy's.

There are also many grills for sale on eBay. If one is lucky, you'll find one in the correct body color.

The grill is pretty easy to remove.

There is. You just swap out for Rubicon shocks on the Sport. That's all there is to the "Performance Suspension". There is nothing different about the springs, they are the same rated as on the other equivalent Wrangler models. Then you order a Sport S with Trac-Lok limited slip and the 3.73 gears, and add after market rock rails. That's what I did with my '14. Of course, I ordered before any mention of the Willy's package was coming out, or I would of went with a Willy's, exactly the options I wanted, minus the connectivity group. I even had the same wheels put on, a set of new takeoffs from a 2013 Moab edition the dealer had.
