Re: $1000 + price increase for 2013 Jeep SRT8

Milous, I just ordered mine at the dealer today, fully loaded mine cost ~$65,500. Mineral grey, pan roof, engine block heater, upgraded sound, tow package and I think that's it. We settled on a price of $63K for it. So not sure were $69K is coming from?

On a side note, have they already starting production on them?

I have the VON number but I'm assuming I have to wait for the VIN to get updates on it.

I was going by preliminary pricing, which was in error. Correct "max" price is just under $67k:

$ 59,995 - Base MSRP
$ 925 - Destination
$ 895 - 295/45ZR20 BSW 3 SEASON TIRES
$ 95 - ENGINE BLOCK HEATER
$150 - FULL SIZE SPARE TIRE
$2540 - REAR DVD ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
$1995 - SRT HIGH PERFORMANCE AUDIO
$995 - TRAILER TOW GROUP IV

$66,695 Total

(with dual-pane sunroof and minus rear DVD total would drop to $65,550)

Production starts on July 2nd. I can add you to the tracking list with a VON, not activity would show until the vehicle is scheduled (D1).

My VON is 27199931 I couldn't wait for that special edition in white. I will trade this in though once the supercharged edition is out. I'm just in love with mineral.

778 unsold units currently sit on dealer lots in the US. Price increase makes perfect sense..........

Re: $1000 + price increase for 2013 Jeep SRT8

^ Scott - per WK2 Jeeps, as of June 2, 2012 total production for the WK2 SRT8 is 4,319.

If 778 are unsold, it equates to 18% of production sitting on the lots of the "high demand" vehicle. Considering the price gouging that actually is not to bad. If they priced it in-line with the WK SRT8 I think there would be <5% on the lots (mostly greedy dealers looking for $$$)

From a business net profit standpoint it appears they did the right thing increasing the price 20% .

Personally, I am torn. (love Jeeps) Do I wait for the 2014 or buy the german car of similar price? I will be at the Drive for Team USA BMW event next week and the SRT Track experience at the end of June. Hopefully these events will help me decide. (The new S6 looks to be almost in the same price range as well http://www.autotrader.com/research/car-models/2013-Audi-S6/25202-350774/~model.jsp?ad_min_price=&ad_max_price=&rdpage=NMLNOSPNSRCS&year=2013&make=Audi&model=S6

I still think the bottom falls out on resale value for the 2012 & 2013 WK2 SRT8's once the 2014's are released.
