'12 & '13 Owners - Class action suit against Jeep

Hello,

I am looking into a class action suit against the Jeep/Chrysler company with the subject of how they screwed over '12 & '13 owners. I'm representing several owners already.

-They early-released the '14 model year, thereby hurting resale and trade-in values of the two previous years.

-They rushed the '12 to market without fully developing it. It should have come with all the "improvements" the '14 now has. The 8 speed transmission for starters. LED tail lights should have been included from day 1 on the design of the WK2. "Face lifts" are an acceptable mid-generation improvement. All the other items the '14 has aren't.

-There is no "loyalty money" or "incentives" for existing WK2 owners to upgrade to the '14. Jeep/Chrysler doesn't give a damn about their existing customer base.

Please PM me or email me at theyscrewedus@yahoo.com if you would be interested in being included. All responses will be held strictly confidential and not posted up on any forum. Please let me know any thoughts you have and what you personally would like to see get accomplished.

Thank you.

-Spartacus (I myself own a 3 month old '13 that is now considered "a year old")

well, it is hurting us the 12's and 13's owners.
they launched the change of the jeep just after two years of a complete change in the car.

it was too soon of a change.
chrylser/jeep was suppose to look over this problem before releasing the 2014.
ive owned many cars, but none of them had a refresh cycle after 2 years of a complete change.

anyway, what to do..
yea am happy with my jeep, still puts an ear to ear smile.
its a 2012, and im loving it more than the robotic 2014 look.

Im an expectant MY14 owner. Im thinking of starting a class action against Jeep because they are already thinki b g about bringing out a new model in the future. Not surw when the release date is, but I know its happening. Anyone want to join me? FFS!

Well, I just bought a '14, and yes, it depreciated appreciably the instant it left the lot.
Sue the bastards!

I also bought a new computer recently, and the vendor just released an even better, bigger, better faster one. Gotta sue them TOO!

And these SHOES! Darn store put an even better pair in the same place on the display these were, which is simply unacceptable!

And this roll of Charmin! It looks like it has been SQUEEZED!
And the local Tarjay has an improved version on the shelves already!!!!

Sue em all
sue em all
sue the long and the short and the tall

[Sadly, I'm sure such a ridiculous suit would probably be accepted in some court somewhere....]

Let me get this straight, you want to sue Chrysler for coming out with a refreshed model when you bought a 2013 AFTER the 2014 was introduced? You're kidding, right?

As an inexperienced buyer, WHY would you blame Chrysler? It's YOUR fault you are unhappy having bought a "one-ear old" vehicle. Did you ever think about researching what you were buying BEFORE you signed on the dotted line? (doh!) If so, you would have known about most of the new 2014 features more than a year ago!

Mate i know where your coming from, I myself negotiated on a 13, but the dealer screwed up and it just so happened that the 14 was in the pipe line, hence that is what i am waiting for (guess i was lucky in that respect). In anycase, these are awesome rides whether it is a12,13 or 14. All cars depreciate in one way or another they are by no means investments, just enjoy your ride.

Unfortunately with the competition for customers, car manufacturers have to constantly update their products to remain competitive.
Technology has also reduced the development time for new / updated models
I am curious for those considering the class action against Chrysler - who bought the '13 model at run-out prices?

Can we add computer companies to this. Every computer I ever purchased was obsolete before I opened the box.

I know I should have waited 'til next year.

I sure am glad I never bought an iPhone.

This truly sounds like a person who is upset that he bought a '13 because he didn't know about the '14 and wants the upgrades that it has. This is not a Chrysler or dealer problem, just a Buyers problem. Like Milous stated, if a buyer is informed about his purchase and what might be coming ahead, that is their fault. No one forced you or anyone to sign the dotted line. If the dealer lead you wrong and didn't tell you about the '14 models, then go yell at them. No Incentives?? They don't have to offer those, it is just that people think they are entitled to them, but we are not. I bought a '14 and got NO INCENTIVE. Am I upset, nope cuz I negotiated a good deal before signing.

No lawyer would take this lawsuit as it has no grounds or merit. Things get updated all the time and we have to learn to live with it. So suck it up and enjoy your vehicle or go trade/sell it and upgrade cuz this isnt going anywhere!!

Wow.. just wow...

Do you have any sense of how hard the judge will throw the book at you for frivolous law suit... and how expensive it will be when he makes you pay for the Chrysler lawyers time and court costs...

hahaha this is funny....do you honestly think that this idea or whatever you want to call it will get anywhere.... im with Milhous.....do your homework man.... in early 2012 I was looking to get into a '12 SRT and offload my '10.... I waited 2 years because I knew the '14 was going to be sick.... do your homework buddy! if not your going to get laughed at...

in the words of JAMESLA30.... drive it and enjoy it....

you know what Chrysler will say when you tell them that theyshould have put the 8 speed in the '13........ oh you want the 8speeddo ya....go buy a '14...

as for a loyalty program for previous customers....I kind of do agree with you on that note...it would be nice to see SRT give you some type of incentive if you go from an SRT to a new SRT....that would be nice.

other then what I just said above, you don't stand a chance with anything

This has to be the dumbest thing I have read all morning and I read that thread by P-Dawger already!! This is everything that is wrong with this country, sue everyone for anything when you don't get your way.

News Flash: Car companies don't owe you anything, they put out a product and if you like it you buy it. They could release a new model every year and that is their decision to make.

You need to be an informed consumer and if you were you would know that the 2014 was coming out when it was and the upgraded options. If you are on this forum people started talking about it the second the 2012 was released (I found that crazy).

Sounds like a whole bunch of sour grapes to me. I would love to have the 2014 but I am a mature adult who understands depreciation of vehicles and knows that's just not in the cards. Instead of wasting your time suing people maybe get another job make some extra money and save up. The entitlement in this post sickens me.

wait shitttt....... can we add Apple to this lawsuit....I bought an iphone 5 a year ago and heard talks about an iphone 6 in the works..... ya we better add Apple to this lawsuit

Great post good read , I like to add can I get in on this lawsuit. I brought a 2005 limited wk with all the options and thinking I had the best and fastest jeep with the hemi 5.7 and then the 2006 srt 8 6.1 hemi came out I want a refund. Just kidding, I am with you in the big changes jeep did with the 12 to 14 I would be mad too, but a lawsuit it is not going to happen. I think car makers are going to do refresh a lot sooner to get more buyers.
