Re: 14' Jeep SRT vs. BMW X5m vs. Cayenne GTS

If these vehicles were tested where TFL is located (Colorado), then I am super pleased with 4.95 0-60. At elevation, we lose a lot of performace.

They were tested at CoTA in Austin, Texas.

It's a good deal faster than 4.95 - road conditions play a part in their timing.

Any indication when/if some of the "big boys" (Car and Driver, Motortrend, Road & Track) will release a review and some figures?
4.3 should be easy to do, I've done it in my old '12:

Elevation plays a huge part in the timing. I am at 1900' elevation and the best 0-60 I have gotten is 4.7 and that was at -25 celsius. Others on this forum have gotten 4.4-4.2 times.(not sure what their elevation or temperature was at) Summer time at +20 celsius the best time I have ever got was 5.2.

JDR where you are situated you are approximately 2200'. With the 2014's being quicker than the 2012's I wouldn't be surprised if the best 0-60 you get will be 4.4-4.5 in the winter and 4.8-5.0 in the summer.

So the big foot got 4.9 sec from 0 to 60,The video I posted showing us how to use the launch control had 4.6 sec on the dash,Cars .com got 4.5 sec,we saw 4.3 sec posted from Scottina06 establish from some journalist ,and now jeep engineer have admitted 4.2 sec,WOW amazing with a 8 speed engine and launch control technology to optimize the engine you can achieve such fast time.

All they need is a few refinement touch up such as automatic door lock when you start drive the vehicle it lock all the doors a nice safety feature, power folding mirror, heated and cool cup holder, lane keep assists, other than that it seems like the perfect SUV to me.Excellent platform to work with in the future to add all these goodies, like I said in a previous post these vehicle is not for everybody, does not meet most people budget, such high performance vehicle with such luxury items has put jeep into the same class as the MB GL63 AG,ML 63 AMG,BMW M Series,Porsche twin turbo Cayenne ,good company to be in.

It actually does lock all the doors once you reach a certain speed, or at least mine does.

Maybe not so much anymore. Dealers here want 78k for 2013 Vapors and the BMW base is 88k and dealers offer incentives to move them.
