Re: '14 SRT, Front Suspension Collapsed?

If i bought a vehicle brand new from CDJ they would be covering all parts and labor, especially after knowing the other dealer is responsible for swapping the springs and not notifying myself or the dealer selling me the vehicle.

Call Chrysler and tell them what's up if the dealer doesn't want to warranty the work.

Re: '14 SRT, Front Suspension Collapsed?

Golly... That SURE is a strange break. Why does it look like cast aluminum inside the spring?!

Re: '14 SRT, Front Suspension Collapsed?

+1. Dealer needs to do it. They should be glad you got someone to come up with the parts.

If the dealer wants to go after the dealer they got the springs from or Eibach, that's their problem - not yours.

Call the SRT hotline .. I don't own an SRT, but I hear that's a thing..

All four Eibach coils are showing stress fractures like this... This particular crack obviously lead to a complete break.

These coils were originally sold in August of 2013, and they look totally different in appearance, both in finish and size, than the replacements I received from Eibach today.

I have a lawyer involved now... We'll see if Eibach wants to reimburse me on all the repair and replacement charges, or if they want to spend four times as much on legal representation.

Glad you and your family were not injured when they failed. Could have been a disaster.

Re: '14 SRT, Front Suspension Collapsed?

Great, so now because these goddamn new rear coils are shorter, my dealer is having an issue getting the rear camber any less than -2.5 deg.

I'm sure there are parts (cams?) to resolve this...

Anyone?

Re: '14 SRT, Front Suspension Collapsed?

There is ABSOLUTELY no way the eibachs will take your rear camber out that far. Have them contact eibach. Or find someone else to align.

Even if you have the new version of the SRT springs you will be well within specifications. Hell my road magnet mids have less rear camber than that!

Please find my eibach numbers attached. The newer kit should not be that far off either.

Just my opinion but this is your dealers problem not yours. They sold you an expensive new vehicle with swop out substandard parts on it without your knowledge. They need to figure it out and if it means riping those springs out and putting new OEM ones back in and them eating the bill then thats what needs to happen. And honestly if it were me OEM is what i would be pushing for on the SRT customer service line not this clueless jeep dealer. You should not be lifting a finger in any of this, this is on them to make it right.

Re: '14 SRT, Front Suspension Collapsed?

Yeah, no... -2.4 was the best they could get the rears to, and Eibach doesn't open until 10am Central.

Literally, both cams are as far out as they'll go.

Vehicle is accident-free.

This isn't the dealer that sold me the vehicle... This is a dealer with three SRT master techs on staff, and by far one of the best overall service teams I've ever seen throughout my many many many countless Jeep service visits, among the many other Jeep vehicles I've owned since I started driving.
