16 SRT white. To paint grill rings or leave stock?

I keep going back and forth on this. My previous black on black altitude was blacked out. The rings were already black but I added overland black honeycomb grill inserts to replace the silver ones. This coming week I am tinting the Windows but I am not sure if I want that blacked out look. I think there are pros and cons to both. I have the black chrome split spoke wheels so that has a chrome hue and I think there are areas on the car that balance out the chrome rings. I like both. So many owners keep the rings stock because it seems like many folks on here have the grill rings painted? Decisions decisions...

I kept mine stock. My '15 SRT is black though and I like the chrome accents. I feel that it's just enough brights for the vehicle.

Thanks for the input. That's somewhat where I'm feeling at this point. I'm doing a pretty dark tint so I'll evaluate after I get that done. The bottom rings I'm not so concerned about but the grill rings really change the look of the car. It's definitely a tough call. I'm 50/50 at this point. I think if my other jeep wasn't so blacked out I'd be eager to do it on this SRT.

I'm all about things matching. There is no chrome trim on the rear of the SRT so I had to get rid of the front chrome trim.

Yeah to me this was a no brainer...but I do understand liking the contrast look with the chrome. I for one prefer this For my 14', the front end screamed "de-chrome" me, but I can't speak to the 16'...post a pic if you can

Either way, the 14+ front ends look awesome and you really can't go wrong

Re: 16 SRT white. To paint grill rings or leave stock?

Thanks for the posts and pictures. I think with the tint and front windshield being dark I'm gonna do the front grill rings. I'll leave the lower rings and chrome jeep on the back. The front grill really does make a drastic and good difference painted but the lower not as much. Thanks everyone this helped me a lot.

Re: 16 SRT white. To paint grill rings or leave stock?

I think either option looks great. I kept mine chrome after deciding on my wheel color and window trim. Since i was keeping the window trim chrome, the grill had to stay as well.

Gotta know whatcha want bro and just go with that. Do a couple unique things though to make you stand out.
I did my bottom rings black at first, but went with a CF wrap that looks nice.

Re: 16 SRT white. To paint grill rings or leave stock?

Hi Guys
What is the best way to black out the front bumper grills and the 2 lower bumber grills? I have a black SRT and i hate the chrome. Is it better to have them painted? Or should i buy the parts in black?
Are they hard to fit? Does the bumber need to be removed?

The best way in my opinion is to order the rings especially if you want them in gloss black. If you want a different color or look like carbon fiber then maybe have them wrapped. The rings are pretty easy to remove and re-install and you do not have to remove the bumper to do any of them upper or lower, I did mine myself and I can give you some tips and tricks if you are interested in going that route. Also if you need an extra set if you are going the "wrapped" (I would not recommend painting them as they will probably chip at some point) route I could sell my old chrome ones at a discount as an option so you don't have to drive around without anything on the truck...just throwing out some ideas. LMK if you have any other questions. Good luck!
