I have never understood why people will pay such premiums for new cars. I guess when you have a ton of money, an extra 15k or so isnt that big of a deal. I, however, try and get the best deal possible, and am willing to wait to get it.
Getting mine next week. I got in on the price protection and ordered it with upgraded sound and 3 season tires. No luxury group II. I paid 55,830. Guess I got lucky.
I have a 2011 gray Bmw 550i that a dealer in Skokie Illinois was going to give me 43k for (71k just 1 year ago) 25,000 miles and excellent condition, wanting 78k for a jeep with 91 miles on it. The salesman kept repeating" but I have to eat too" among other crap, they thought I was insane when I quoted what you guys payed on this site. I felt profiled being a thirty-something black guy, I could tell they assumed I was ignorant of the numbers of the jeep and financial issues in general . To make it worse, one of the sales guys was a "brotha" too trying to act like he knew me. Generally, these guys think black people are bad with money and take advantage but Too bad he didn't know I was a board certified child and adult psychiatrist, so not exactly a stupid person, and my business is to know people and behavior. After pushing back for 20 minutes ,it felt good to storm out of there I guess ill have to order one at my preferred dealer and wait.
Don't feel bad, 99% of all dealers treat people like they are idiots and try to play games and screw you over. The car dealer model is completely broken.
