Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

The 2012 CLS has a 5.1 0-60, costs 71k base, and will only hold its value at best as good as the SRT Jeep does, speaking fro experience having one in the family, also they don't come in 4matic just yet you may have to wait a couple years for that, your 09 with 22k miles is most likely worth 37-39k.

This still all doesn't make sense. How much is the base WK2 in Canada? 26 k? I am pretty sure its around 33k up there. So something is off here. Why are all other models still much cheaper in the US?

mlarco^ From 0-60 times. http://www.zeroto60times.com/Mercede...mph-Times.html
2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 0-60 mph 4.6 Quarter Mile 13.1
402HP and 443lbs
From Motortrend http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...est/specs.html
"You see, the 2012 CLS550 learned a few tricks from its older sister over at club AMG. Forget about outperforming the old CLS500 - the new CLS550 can show the old CLS55 AMG a thing or two. Our ride showed up in a sexy black dress and wowed us with a zero-to-60-second sprint of just 4.3 seconds, same as the old AMG."

The 4matic will be made this fall. (Maybe it will arrive before the SRT8 Jeep) Unlike the Jeep. It actually has a price. http://www.edmunds.com/mercedes-benz...=cls550-4matic

MB had a CLS 550 4matic at the Detroit auto show this year. The interior is amazing.

Unlike others here, I only want a fast, head turning daily driver that will sit 4 people comfortably.

On edit: My initial thought process was to buy a 2012 Jeep SRT8 before year end for $50k EP price and then next year pick up the MB and give the Jeep to my wife to drive. With the inflated Jeep pricing I have to rethink what I "want" in my driveway and when.

The way this reads, it indicates the adaptive cruise is included in the base MSRP (Overland to SRT8).

That's adaptive suspension not cruise.

^ I was reading the overland summit, which means it probably is not included.

I think if the $55k base price included the adaptive cruise and full leather it would be more "reasonable"

We build many cars here in Ontario Canada.

Right in the city where I work, Oshawa, the Camaro is exclusively built, ie. none in the USA....plus other GM trucks, Buick.
Brampton, ON: Chrysler 300, Charger.
Oakville, ON: Ford Edge
Alliston, ON: Honda, Lexus, Toyota plants.

Yet, we pay more for all cars here.....until now.

Understood, but never has there been a $3K drop in price for the same model unless they stripped a bunch of stuff off. It all points to something is still very fishy. I won't believe any price anymore until the dealers themselves get final pricing.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

What's weird is I/we continue to hold out hope for this while Jeep/SRT/Chrysler just continue to throw things in our face... This sounds exactly like the beginning of a bad relationship/breakup. We're just still at this akward moment before one of us finally gives up on it..

This may be a good alternative.........

Although it doesn't tow, so not a possibility for me.......

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

Lets face it, regardless of the performance aspects...... the WK2 SRT8 is a much nicer and MUCH better made Jeep. They definitely improved the materials, fit and finsih inside and out. Like someone said to me today, you are buying a platform to start moddiing. I'm sure as soon as the tuners are able to crack the tuning..... you will see blown strokers with 800-1000hp that are PLUSH as hell inside and can still run a 1/4 in the 9's......
