Probably because they don't think the SRT8 is for all, thus the low production numbers and higher price....... like the M bmw line, or S audi line or AMG benz line......

I would have loved to pay 10K less for it, but most likely it won't happen......

still with my options and at invoice it totals 56k........I will live with that....

There is no substitute for a performance lux SUV at this price point.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

The bummer is, now this price will impede the modding.. Who's going to void their warranty on a $62k Jeep? Heck, most are now out that $10k thus won't have anything left to spend on it! This is really going to take away from the brand IMHO...

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

This thread is still bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Bananas! People are going nuts on here. Im thinking that either we need to just put this thing on pause or get the OFFICIAL PRICE out before someone has an aneurism! Some good stuff in here but a ton of non-sense being spewed in this thread its silly.

Ive stated my mind in here plenty and I stand by the fact that although a Jeep and it was cheaper and this and that, its still OBVIOUSLY worth $55k in comparison to every CAR on the market and their price points. BUT, that of course, is not how people shop. People dont buy using logic and value, they use name brands and stereotypes/prejudice (like real life) to buy cars. Sure value varies person to person BUT there is a legitimate baseline value for a car beyond what the market thinks based on the rest of the market. (one way companies figure out pricing)

Ive only really ever seen and/or thought about the new C63 AMGs and new S5s as true comparable options but even then THEY ARE CARS! They cant two anything serious if at all, they cannot go off-road for long without ruining the car and they cannot fit nearly the amount of crap i like to lug around and still seat my buddies and girl in the car comfortably. Sorry they dont match up that well FOR ME at least.

If you "mod" the driver by taking high performance driving/racing courses you don't void the warranty of any vehicle and it is completely transferrable....

plus you will enjoy driving more by beating your buddies who have the latest and greatest mods, but no driving skills.......
