I stopped by the Infinity dealer earlier today and looked at one up close for the first time. From the Infiniti website I thought the interior was nicer in the pictures than it is in reality.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

at 4:00 at my dealer, we checked in the dealer order system and no price. All the other models had their prices.
We discussed what I knew and of course he was just a salesmen with no knowledge of what I actually knew. He did bring up a point about Sergio Marchionne and the fact about him turning FIAT around by not jacking up prices to gouge customers, but providing the best value and bang for your buck.
This has proven true on all other models in the Chrysler line up. More for the same or less.
So this pricing anomaly has to be an error. There is no way that this one US model defects from the Canadian vs US Pricing differential while the other models retain that difference while also defecting from the Head Honcho's Best bang for your buck and value prophecy that has helped him in the past.
If the Canadian price is correct, which it appears it is. There is no way, the US price is more.
That's my call and I'm sticking to it.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

you know, we keep beating the price issue to death here for a couple weeks, we need to start getting answers on the real issue here....and which will drive the official pricing to be released:

Why is there no production and/or why was it delayed??????

When pricing enters the system, my guess is that production will be around the corner. I think my dealer was on to something....perhaps there ARE NOT AS MANY SRT orders across the board as we all believe/expected. Maybe they are holding production until there is a higher demand. I peeped some Charger/300/Chally boards today and saw no where near the action on SRT models as the Jeep has here. Perhaps we feel there are a lot of orders, but when looking at an entire population there isn't.

Perhaps Milous can dig deeper on this issue as opposed to the pricing(?)

This is the one thing keeping my hopes up. Either the Canadian dollar is strong or it's not. Why would they have the Limited/Overland priced totally different in relation to Canada but not the SRT8? That cannot be right.

What about an BMW x3 335i? They are in the mid 5s 0-60 stock and with a chip and downpipe they would probably be right in the ballpark of the srt-8 and give you 25 mpg highway when cruising.

It's a compact SUV, but can tow more than the SRT8. Personally I think it's ugly.
What I would like to point out about this new version is, it has more horsepower, more space, New suspension, Electric Damping control, tows more (5400lbs), weighs less and costs $2100 less in base form than the previous year, and provides more amenities
HINT HINT CHYRSLER/JEEP!!!!!!!!
The premiums are adding more, dropping weight and price. Get the point!

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

The ONLY BMW that can be even remotely compared to a WK2 SRT8 is the two V8 engined versions of the X5 (I chose to ignore the ugly X6 even exists).

Comparing tiny sporty cars like a 1 series (even an M version), or the insipid X3, to my mind, is laughable.

If any of you are seriously cross-shopping between a BMW 1M and an SRT8 Jeep, just because they're of similar price, then I think you need to step back and take a long hard look at yourself

I test drove an X5 (X3 is effin ugly same thing though) I was seriously unimpressed with everything. Has zero balls, non user friendly NAV and info center, has half the cool stuff of the overland, and costs way more to maintain. This is a no brainer, Id def buy an srt8 instead... I literally thought about buying an X5M, but #1 you cant find one to test drive so either you have to order one and hope you like it, or fly to LA to find one. #2 its $110K loaded nicely, #3 just didnt appeal to me as much as the Jeep.
