I agree with you that $60k is a luxury price....BUT on the right vehicle. $60k for a family sedan is a luxury price. $60K for performance, lux(sorta) SUV is a not a luxury......$80-100K is luxury in the SRT8 category/competition. The M class, turbo Cayenne and AMg suv's are ultra luxury...IMO

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. They seem to be having a tough time with presenting a clear message on the differences between the models and the tie to pricing. The Luxury package has bugged me for a while because it includes items that are standard on the other models. Under the preliminary pricing model I thought it made sense to split those out. Under the model in this presentation I would expect them to be included in the base.

'till then no way is it worth it.
Did the service dept change when GM brought out the Corvette ZR1 or Z06.....both near or above $100,000.00. I don't think so.

SRT however will give a days lesson at a driving school though.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

I think they want the SRT brand to move upmarket and they had to start somewhere. It never made sense to me that an Overland could cost more than an SRT8. With most manufacturers, you have to pay a premium for power even if it had less standard features.

The BMW Ms and MB AMGs all cost way above the model it's modifying. I just read in the weekend papers that the 2012 Mercedes C Class, C63 AMG est. list for C$75,000 and the new Black Series C63 AMG for C$135,000.

The SRT Driving School is part of the sticker price of the Jeep. I believe it's $500 automatically added in.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - MSRP Pricing

And its funny when people say ohhh $60k is WAYYY too much for a Jeep! I mean what if I have to get warranty work or go to the dealer??? I mean the service is so crappy I just cant deal with it?!?!

I mean first of all, you'd rather buy an way more expensive vehicle just for service and warranty work??? Yeah Ill take my $60k thanks guys And service varies dealer to dealer too of course os this is just one type of stereotype against Jeep dealers lol. By me two 5 star dealer that are great and Ive ever had an issue so sucks for all you complainers, should find a new dealer maybe :/

And I dont buy my CAR based on the service or warranty but maybe thats just me. Sure those are factors that should carry some weight but lets be honest, people who base decisions on the fact that it may have critical failures and the need to have the work done for free are usually losing out on an overall better experience if they dont choose the auto they really want. Like I said I'll save my $60k and spend the rest on oil changes and some regular maintenance at a regular local trusted shop before I drop another $60k so I can have my shoes shined and listen to elevator music in a comfy leather chair at my MB/BMW dealership

Not on order yet, but in 2013 hopefully. Waiting for the 8 speed and first gen bugs fixed and maybe some new features added; Id never buy first year of any model, just me.

That or the new LE Supercharged SRT8 if/when it comes available. Something Jeep SRT8 will be on order in the next two years I know that Just dont want to make hasty decision
